- The tourism system
A tourism system links where a trip starts, the route taken and the destination, plus all the services along the way.
- Push and pull factors
Push factors make people want to leave home for a while; pull factors draw them to a particular place.
- Motivation and ability to travel
Motivation is the reason to travel; money, time and affordable services make the trip possible.
- Transport and tourism mobility
Mobility is how easily people can reach and move around places, and better transport can change where and how people travel.
- The tourism area life cycle
The life-cycle model shows how a destination can grow and change; after stagnation, it may decline or be rejuvenated.
- The Dependable-Venturer spectrum
Few travellers are fully Dependable or fully Venturer; most mix both, and their choices can change from trip to trip.
